Ellen H. Pelz, DMD
Originally from Chicago, Ellen was born into dentistry. Her father is a well-known oral surgeon there, and Ellen was his assistant for many years. That was when she became truly interested in the dental field. She loves the fact that because she sees patients a few times per year, she gets to form real connections with them. Plus, most visits are focused on proactive preventative care, which doesn't always exist in medicine.
After working for her father, Ellen went on to earn her bachelor degree at UW-Madison and later her DMD degree at Tufts University in Boston. Next it was on to a one-year general residency at Northwestern Memorial Hospital in Chicago followed by nearly three years in private practice, earning numerous awards for peer support and clinical excellence along the way.
Ellen now lives on the East Side with her husband Barry, who practices medicine at Children's Hospital of Wisconsin. She enjoys spending time outdoors, doing yoga, and getting together to sing with her sisters. She also has a huge tender spot in her heart for animals, especially dogs! Before moving to Milwaukee, Ellen devoted a lot of her spare time to volunteering in animal shelters.
